Final Message

Hey everyone, Blur here. I guess this is it, huh?

Thank you so much for participating in Alien Syndrome. It's been an absolute honor to create this, and I've learned so much from it. I truly feel like I've gained an experience that is unbelievably unique. I wasn't expecting half of what was in store, even on the end of controlling the game.

This project was to clearly depict the feeling of struggling to fit in, of feeling out of place, subpar, or inhuman--- something that I've struggled with a lot. I came up with the name "Alien Syndrome" at around 12, to give to dissociation before I knew what it was or what I was experiencing. All I knew was that something was wrong, and that it felt like my first day on Earth.  Alien Syndrome.

Since then, Alien Syndrome has become more than that. I wanted this project to cover other subjects as well, such as my experience with autism, and how that affects my relationship with people, myself, and gender.

But, over all, I wanted to make something fun. I wanted to interact with my audience in a way I couldn't achieve with my other pieces of art. Something personal. I told myself that if at least one person walks away with a valuable experience, if at least one person enjoyed themself and got something out of it, then this project was a success.

At least one person has.

So thank you, the audience, for making this possible. If you were a silent viewer, thank you. And Amber, thank you. Deeply and genuinely. I feel like we created a very unique connection through such a personal yet anonymous project. I hope to reveal my identity soon and become friends.

If you enjoyed Alien Syndrome, and want to support the creator (that's me!), Artifact 2 will actually be on display at the Nth Degree Gallery on King Street at 6 PM (until late) tomorrow (Friday 5/1). I have another piece of work there that's unrelated, and many of my peers will be in the show, all who are incredibly talented and have made unbelievably beautiful art. The Nth is a bit elusive, it is between Off the Rack and Common Good Co. It is a singular, purple door and a flight of stairs. So, for the final message of Alien Syndrome, and one last quest, I implore you:

A Quick Message (pt 2)

As I'm sure can be inferred by the fact that it is 7:30PM, Alien Syndrome will not be finishing tonight. The new finale date is this Thursday, April 30th. It will not be pushed back any farther than that (this is guaranteed).

A Quick Message

Hello to anyone reading this:

I hate to break the immersiveness of this ARG once again, but deeply felt the need to post something about this so that there isn't any misinformation. I might delete this soon if it is too disruptive to anyone's experience (let me know, I'm so sorry).

I had planned the finale for Alien Syndrome to go live on Sunday,  April 26th, and am still trying to reach that goal. However, as it grows concerningly close,  I worry about being able to deliver by that date. I wanted to be transparent about it here because if anyone has followed up on the lore, I had indeed stated the finale would be this Sunday.

This doesn't mean it will be pushed back by very long, and if it is to be pushed back, my estimate would be Thursday,  April 30th (reading day).

I apologize for the lack in content recently and this altercation, it really isn't ideal. But if I'm being completely honest, outside of this little world I've created, I'm kind of drowning right now.  Thank you for keeping up with it and being my motivation.

Hopefully I'll still be able to finish this by Sunday, but even if not, I will definitely have more pieces to share before the finale.

i went outside

I went outside today.

And I looked.

I mean, I really looked.

And I noticed.

Noticed that the clouds move across the sky like racing horses.

Noticed that birds flit around the branches of the trees, singing and dancing.

Noticed that the wind sometimes crosses the grass in just a way that it shines in the sun.

Noticed that the light filtering through the leaves of the trees looks just like a fawn's spots.

Noticed that if you look at someone, 

I mean, really look...

You don't shy away

You don't look at your feet

Or the ground

Or the dirt under your nails

You look at them

And you see them

That they are more beautiful than the clouds, or the birds, or the wind in the grass or the light in the leaves.

And somehow

That isn't as horrifying as you thought.

And if you look at them

weird dreams

A New Introduction

Thank you all for letting this ARG reach the next stage. 

Before we continue, I would like to make something clear.

This is fictional. All characters within this universe are conducted by a sole person who is of sound mind and is purposely orchestrating everything. 

If you find an "artifact", you are welcome to keep it. I simply ask that you send in photos of your find as well as any commentary you may want to include.  It is true that I am using this website as documentation.

To those who commented and emailed yesterday: thank you. I didn't design this to poke fun at anyone,  nor do I discredit any of the stories submitted. I would love to hear more stories surrounding your experiences and I am blown away by the positive feedback received. I honestly feel bad, like this may be a disappointment, but I hope you have fun playing the game if you wish to.

I have some exciting news…. !!

If my predictions are correct, there will be an artifact to be found tomorrow… i think maybe they have been leaving them on purpose??? I don’t know.. Either way, the deposit of them has not been Random. I will update you all with more information on the whereabouts of this artifact when i can, and i am not sure what it will be yet.. Hopefully this time we can get some clear documentation…!!! tomorrow!!!!

Astra : hey astra… OMG… thank u for this information!!! This is great to know and i will try to check it out some time when i’m free.. I also have a commenter who sent in an email and would love this information, they were asking about places to photograph UFO’s.. Sog, check out Astra’s comment..!!! Also, in response to feeling out of place… yes. I have always felt this way. You pose a good question asking if i might be alien.. I’m starting to wonder that myself. It is growing more difficult by the minute not to give in to that kind of thinking.

To: John Doe: i do not Remember my abduction experience unfortunately. But the morning of April 8th i woke up with a headache and saw a freckle on my arm i don’t remember having. I had the weirdest feeling that i had been somewhere. Totally exhausted, like i’d just run a marathon. My behavior has also been strange, but i can’t distinguish if this was from that specific event or before, making me believe that maybe I have been abducted earlier, possibly since i was a child.. 

I get this feeling that no matter where i am, i do not fit into the space. If i am in class, at work, at a social event.. It is like i am somewhere i shouldn’t be. And everyone around me knows it. It feels like my skin is too tight and my chest is too heavy. And when i look in the mirror, i just feel Wrong…. Like, if you have heard of the uncanny valley effect… i suspect others see it too. Lights and colors have become too bright, and noises too loud.. I am sensitive to so much..

No matter what i do, i just don’t belong. I think that something was changed about my body that i can not remember. Something that made me.. Different. I dont know how else to explain it. Thank You for your comment and genuine interest. I really really appreciate it

introduction to newcomers

Hello, i am a young adult in the Appalachian region who believes there to be extraterrestrial life here on earth. Not only do I have proof, but i believe that I myself was abducted and altered by these life forms on the night of April 7th/early morning of April 8th, possibly multiple times before then too. They have since wiped my memory but i have been feeling strange and experiencing things i don’t believe a human would.

If you do not believe me you wouldn’t be the first, but I have evidence and will be using this blog as documentation for my theories.
As of now i dont know if this extraterrestrial life means us any harm, but they are certainly intelligent and elusive. Thank you for your time and I hope you will see the truth for what it is

I didn’t see anything solid today, but I need you to believe me that it’s out there. I’m feeling more exhausted than usual, and my vision keeps blurring at the edges. I’m really starting to doubt my humanity. What if it was never there at all?

Foggy

Sometimes it’s like looking through a window… i can see in, but others can’t see out.. I just want them to see me!

All lights recently have been really bright, and I can’t articulate sentences very well. I keep stumbling over my words, I think people are starting to notice…

Hello to my two new viewers!! I will make this site better for you, i promise. I haven’t made a website before. Sorry

I am a young adult in the Appalachian region, and i have a working theory that aliens have visited and are currently staying here! I don’t know if they intend to harm us but i think they are suspicious that i have been observing them. Litter or artifact?

I keep finding strange objects around campus and town. I’ve collected a few of them to take back to my apartment. If cathy sees them, she’ll be even more pissed. I just can’t figure out what they are or what they would be used for. Strange objects
